Velour by Nostalgi visited L.A. based artist Johan Andersson at his home in Venice Beach, where Johan picked out his favorite pieces from the AW13 collection which was summarized in a Portrait – The Artist.
Johan Andersson is known for interesting paintings where he depicts individuals’ fates. One of Johan’s most acclaimed work is his painting of Amy Winehouse that he showed up two weeks after Amy’s tragic death. The painting was well received among Amy’s fans, and in July 2012, a year after her death, the painting was installed at Camden Town tube station on the Northern Line platform 1, near where she lived. This work also contributed to Johan was noticed in the music circles.
Recently, Johan Andersson was selected as one of the 100 most influential creators in the magazine TimeOut.
